Best bit: Berlin's transit system commissioned adidas to make 500 pairs of custom shoes incorporating their distinctive seat fabric. They sold out quick: wearers rode without having to pay a fare for a year.

I'll admit that, while I'm a dedicated public transit rider, I bring my own (exceptionally comfortable) seat, so this a visual-aesthetic issue for me.

Oh yep, the BVG (Berlin transit system) are bloody brilliant at PR, it's honestly the thing I miss most about that city. <3

The appropriate garment for our climate would be a scarf (aka muffler), and it just so happens our bus co is introducing new livery this month.

If you look closely at the Warsaw one (of the city's fortifications) someone seems to be hurling themselves from the wall. That's a feeling I've had on public transport whenever the wheelchair ramp fails to turn up ;)

That is cool! A while ago somewhere in South or Central America (I cannot for the life of me find the news story) issued comic books that acted as tickets as well.
